Notiziario dalla Grecia #1 - 23 febbraio 2013

Tradotto da Massimiliano Sfregola

The arson attack on the Skouries mining site and its aftermath

An arson attack took place on the worksite of mining company Hellas Gold  in the Skouries forest in north-eastern Halkidiki  in the night from 16 to 17 February 2013. An initial report, posted by the pro-mining blog "Citizen of the Aristotelis Municipality", stated that 50 to 70 individuals wearing full-face hoods and armed with shotguns and petrol bombs entered the site shortly after midnight and set equipments and vehicles on fire. The report further claimed that the assailants immobilized the two security guards who were on the site and held them hostage after dousing them with petrol and threatening to set them on fire. The value of the shares of the majority owner of Hellas Gold, Canadian company Eldorado Gold, dropped by 6% in the Toronto stock exchange following news of the attack.

Message from the 3 anarchists behind bars arrested for bank robberies

Just a few words behind bars, held hostage at a detention facility, to demonstrate our aims & intentions so as to clear the air on the latest developments.

As anarchists we consider the choice of bank robbing to be a conscious choice to resist. The purpose of our action was not to build financial wealth for us. The attack against the “pantheons of capitalism” falls into our broader revolutionary activity.

As for the torturing we got by the oppressive police forces, we don’t want that to become a reference point of victimization. We didn't expect anything less from the foes of freedom. We shouldn't forget how many people have been battered in police departments and their cells. Let these traces of torture become another trigger for rage to turn into action.

Opposed to the established representatives of justice, our stance will be irreconcilable and uncompromising.

WE ARE NOT COOPERATING – WE ARE NOT APOLOGIZING
LONG LIVE ANARCHY

The anarchists

Andreas-Dimitris Bourzoukos
Yiannis Michailidis

Regeringen beskyldte PAME for at have ‘invaderet’ ministeriet.

#rbnews international show 02 February 2013 - Culture in the time of the crisis (2): The Dance Box at the Greek National Opera

On #rbnews international on 02 February 2013, we continued our series about culture in the time of the crisis in Greece with a show dedicated to dance. We interviewed Renato Zanella (@ZanellaRZ), the head of the ballet company at the Greek National Opera, who launched, among other things, the Dance Box, a bridge programme for unemployed graduates of the Opera's dance academy. The Dance Box company will be officially presented in a dance gala in the Olympia theatre in Athens on Sunday 03 February.

The pieces of music in the show are excerpts from:
  • Gioachino Rossini: Overture of "La Gazza Ladra"
  • Johann Strauss, Jr: Tritsch-Tratsch (polka, opus 214), Frühlingstimmer (waltz, opus 410), Klipp-Klapp (gallopade, opus 466),
  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Exsultate Jubilate (motet, opus 165).

Informativo semanal desde Grecia #17 - 02 Febrero 2013
